Anti-Hospital Traffic Jam March 反對養和醫院擴建大遊行
I live in Happy Valley and The Hong Kong Hospital and Sanatorium decided to convert their hospital from 400 beds to 800 beds by building two more out of proportion skyscraper extension in the neighborhood. Currently, the traffic jam build up is so bad that residence from the Happy Valley couldn’t even get out with their cars since there are always traffic bottle necking at the entrance of the hospital. The residents protested for years against this ridicules architectural proposal yet the hospital continue to ignore the demand of the local residence. Finally, an unprecedented protest was organized by the Happy Valley Concern Group against the hospital and supported by more than 500 local residence. I created all the protesting signage and built an evil hospital monster model for the demonstration which was destroyed by the children of the protestors. Despite repeated compliant, the Town Planning Board finally ruled for the hospital and that out of proportion ugly skyscrapers will get built, the neighborhood will continue to suffer from the traffic problem caused by it for sure. Well, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, that’s the way it is in the art of protest.
