Shop Like There's No Tomorrow 血拼

This live art performance work featured artist Kacey Wong dressed up like a rich shopper from China strolling around shopping centers with lots of brand name shopping bags. Chinese words taken from the National Security Law such as separatism, subversion, collusion, terrorism was printed on one side of the shopping bags. These are all the crimes listed on the new National Security Law. The artist bought some bitter mellow (bitter gourd) during this excursion of police chaos, symbolizing the taste of life in the uncertain future of Hong Kong.

The National Security Law was dumped on Hong Kong by Beijing, freedom of speech and expression vanished overnight. 1st of July marks the hangover of Hong Kong to Communist China but it is also traditionally a day of protest for Hong Kong citizens. This year the Hong Kong government use the unconstitutional public gathering restriction trying to deter citizens from protesting on the street, thousands of people show up on the street nevertheless.
