The Five Commandments 摩西五戒
In order to protest legally in Hong Kong one have to apply for a Letter of No Objection from the police department, unless it is for religious reason then there is an exemption. The creative netizens of Hong Kong then organized a ‘religious gathering’ to pray for the sinners, namely the chief executive of Hong Kong Carrie Lam. The artist attended the gathering dressing up as biblical figure of Moses with home-made tablet of the ‘Five Commandments’ which echo the demands of the Hong Kong protestors during the Anti-Extradition Law Movement. The performance involved the artist blessing young protestors in English telling them they are doing the right thing. When protestors saw Moses coming, they immediately make way for him to pass like parting of the human Red Sea. While running away from the police frantically young protestors chased after Moses to ask for blessing and protection from God. This performance work offers hope to those in need in the middle of political chaos and desperation.
